What We Do
We, Rural Development Associate or shortly known as RDA, are a non-profitable, non-government and non-political organization. We started our journey back in 1996 with the active cooperation and participation from some of the most dedicated social workers in the rural and urban development field. Our aim is to create a society free form exploitation, illiteracy, starvation. Our focus is primarily on underprivileged women and children of our society.
In 2016 RDA started building low cost homes for homeless people in collaboration with Bangladesh Bank Grihayan Tahabil. Those who couldn’t afford to have a house on their own are the target clients of this project. Under Grihayan project, RDA builds a home for them on their own land where a family of up to 6 persons can live comfortably. So far, RDA built homes for 115 families.
In 2013 RDA acquired Microcredit Regulatory Authority under Bangladesh Bank’s license to operate microfinance in all over Bangladesh. RDA is operating microfinance with 3 branches respectively in Bhairab Bazar, Shimulkandi and Austagram.
